Our Story

Strengthening Food Trade & Innovation Across South Asia

SAARC Foods Association Sri Lanka (ASFSL) was founded in 2011, became incorporated in 2023, and commenced activities as ASFSL in 2023.

ASFSL continues the work of the Regional SAARCFOODS Association in India as an education body, to provide scientifically based nutrition information to encourage all Sri Lanka to achieve optimal nutrition and wellbeing through encouraging quality foods for a healthy balanced diet.

ASFSL is a non-government, non-profit organisation in Sri Lanka linked to others SAARC countries.

ASFSL is an independent, member organisation that aims to promote the healthy eating and wellbeing of all Sri Lankans. The ASFSL is a registered association, registered in the ACT.

President's Message

As the President of the ASFSL, it is my distinct honour to welcome you to our official website. Our association, formed under the auspices of SAARC, is dedicated to advancing food science and food composition across Sri Lanka linking to other countries of South Asia. We aim to foster collaboration, innovation, and the sharing of knowledge and resources among our member countries. By doing so, we strive to address the unique challenges and opportunities that our diverse region presents.
